The Power of Endowment

For more than a decade, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County 4-H Endowment Fund has stood as a testament to the power of endowment.

At the time of the fund’s inception in 2012, Cornell Cooperative Extension leadership recognized the pressing need for financial stability. They established an ambitious goal of raising $1-2 million to secure the future of 4-H in the region. Through dedicated fundraising efforts, including the annual 4-H Green Tie Affair, the organization has steadily built a financial foundation to support its mission of positive youth development.

"The Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County 4-H Fund is a shining example of how endowment can safeguard essential programs," said Tory Irgang, Executive Director. "The success of this initiative is a direct result of the commitment of past and present 4-H leaders, volunteers, and generous supporters.”

"The growth of our 4-H Endowment Fund is a testament to the generosity of our community and the unwavering commitment to essential programming," said Emily Reynolds, Cornell Cooperative Extension Executive Director. "Thanks to the grant distributions from this Fund, we can provide invaluable experiences and opportunities for young people in our region for generations to come."

With continued support and investment, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County 4-H Fund will remain a cornerstone of youth development in Chautauqua County, ensuring that future generations have access to the resources, mentorship, and educational opportunities that 4-H provides.
