CRCF Announces 2022 JDH Community Service Award
The Community Foundation is proud to announce Paul Hedberg and Ruth Lundin as the 2022 JDH Community Service Award recipients.
Kids and Sibs Summer Camp
Next week, children with disabilities, their siblings and volunteers with Exceptional Stars Athletics will spend two days at YMCA Camp Onyahsa. A grant from the Community Foundation’s Fund for the Region supports the event.
Southwestern Soccer Donates to the Lindell Fund
The Southwestern Boys Varsity Soccer team recently donated $1,000 to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for the Janet Lindell Scholarship. The donation was made in honor of Andy Lindell, a senior member of the team and Janet’s son.
Edwards Receives Carlson, Green, Willson Scholarship
On June 2, during Jamestown High School’s awards night presentation, the Community Foundation presented the first Carlson, Green, Willson Scholarship to Andrew Edwards.
Fund Created in Memory of Jason Williams
Williams passed away suddenly in June 2019 at 40 years old. To honor his legacy, his family created the Jason M. Williams Fund for Performing Arts to support musical theater programs at Jamestown Public Schools.
Chautauqua County Funders Respond to Buffalo Tragedy

Bill and Linda Knight Brass Scholarship
In honor of Bill and Linda Knight, two anonymous donors have established the Bill and Linda Knight Brass Scholarship Fund to provide private lesson funding for brass music students in the Jamestown Public School District.
Infinity’s Lexy Hughan Memorial Fund
Infinity’s Lexy Hughan Memorial Fund will be administered by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and will distribute grants annually to Infinity Visual & Performing Arts.
Chautauqua Striders Honors Zabrodsky’s Leadership
The John Zabrodsky Honorary Scholarship was established at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation to assist graduating Jamestown High School seniors who exemplify the interests and traits that Zabrodsky was known for.
Star Hospice House Receives CRCF Support
A grant from the Foundation’s Fund for the Region was awarded to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care to support the construction of Chautauqua County’s first dedicated hospice facility.
Calhoun Family Scholarship Created for Sherman Students
The Calhoun Family Scholarship will be awarded annually to graduating Sherman Central School seniors who were involved in Future Farmers of America, 4-H or will be pursuing a degree in the agricultural field or mechanics. Students involved in the cheerleading program will also be eligible to apply.
Art Show Raises Money for Urban Forestry Fund
Organizers of the Third Street Oak Trees Art Show donated $2,341 to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for its Urban Forestry Fund to be used for the planning and caring of trees throughout the city.
