James Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund Keeps It Close To Home

The James Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund was established recently by Jessup Baker, the President of Jamestown Plastics and the third generation Baker at the helm of the 66 year-old family business. With his grandfather James' legacy defined by his hard-working perfectionism, his family of successors knew that their work was cut out for them and strived to follow in the man’s footsteps.

With his 1976 purchase of the Jamestown Plastics, James Baker was determined to double down on the company’s pride for and innovation in what they do. They did just that, establishing the reputation of a high-quality, highly determined, and well-trusted organization. That reputation translated into continued success, which would span 23 years and be handed down to James’ son, Jay.

This year, Jay's son and current President, Jessup Baker, established a scholarship fund to benefit the children of Jamestown Plastics employees. “It's a perfect opportunity to show our employees how much we care about them and their families, how much we value education and training, and that it's always possible to do more to help,” Noted Jessup Baker. “We’ve seen this company grow and mature for decades, and I’m proud to now have the chance to do even more for our families.
