Chi Sig Supports Boys and Girls Club

Legacy members of Jamestown High School’s Chi Sigma Chi fraternity recently presented a donation to the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown. The contribution was made in support of The Club’s commitment to offering youth a safe place to gather, work toward academic success, build good character and citizenship, and establish healthy lifestyles.

While the brothers of Chi Sig graduated from Jamestown High School decades ago, they established the Chi Sigma Chi Remembrance Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation in 2008. As a designated fund, annual awards are given specifically to support the WCD Boys and Girls Club. Says Club Executive Director Jeff Kroon, “these annual dollars are used to promote summer activities for youth members aged 5-18,” adding “they’ll help us to purchase supplies, sports equipment, and snacks.”

At the time the fund was established, members of the Chi Sig fraternity stated “our time spent at The Boys Club was so important to the development of our members.” With such a positive experience, they aimed to assure today’s community youth the same developmental, social and leadership opportunities.

To support the Chi Sigma Chi Remembrance Fund, tax deductible donations can be made via credit card by visiting crcfonline.org or by mailing a check to the Foundation’s office at 418 Spring Street in Jamestown.
