Enriching the Quality of Life in the Chautauqua Region
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is a nonprofit, community corporation that serves the charitable purpose of benefiting the people of the community it serves. It was created by and for the people of the Chautauqua region to help donors make a positive impact on their community by establishing a “bridge” between the donor and charitable activities.
In 2016, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation awarded $3,513,956 to the community in the form of grants and scholarships.
Over 700 students received $1,041,984 for costs related to higher education and area nonprofit organizations received $1,498,819 through the Foundation’s Community Service, Special Project and Field of Interest grants process.
Money was also awarded from the Foundation’s Designated/Agency Funds which granted $973,153 to many area nonprofit organizations to provide ongoing support to their missions.
At the end of 2016, the Foundation’s asset level was at $85.7 million.
Throughout its 39 year history, the Foundation has received contributions of $69.9 million and granted over $49.4 million to the community. It currently administers over 700 funds.
