The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is pleased to announce the Marjorie L. Larson Memorial Scholarship Fund for second-year nursing students attending Jamestown Community College (JCC).
Special people always seem to strike a chord with those whose lives they touch and Marjorie Larson was such a person. Born and raised in Frewsburg, one of five children, she attended Frewsburg Central High School, graduating as salutatorian. She pursued her passion for helping others by attending the WCA Hospital School of Nursing. She was subsequently hired as a registered nurse by WCA and her exemplary career spanned the next 38 years.
While Marjorie never married, she was that “special aunt” to all her nieces and nephews. She made holidays particularly memorable and her sense of humor was contagious. Her kindness and consideration made an impact on the entire family, just as it did on her patients and all who knew her. She never stopped caring for others.
Graduates of Falconer, Frewsburg, Jamestown, Maple Grove, and Southwestern High Schools attending JCC are eligible. They must have a desire to go “above and beyond” their regular nursing duties, demonstrating the same commitment to nursing and towards their patients as Marjorie did.
