These grants are unrestricted in nature – meaning that the funds for this grant process may be used to benefit a wide variety of charitable projects or needs. Applications are carefully reviewed by a volunteer committee of community members and recommendations are made to the Board of Directors for the final approval. These grants are made possible through the generosity of those who have established or who have contributed to the Karl Peterson Fund and the Lynn Foundation Fund.
Application Deadline: The last Friday of the month.
Geographic Scope: Projects that demonstrate a definite benefit to the Southern Chautauqua Region. (The Fredonia/Dunkirk area is served by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation).
Religious Projects: Organizations with a religious affiliation may apply for this grant.
Award Amounts: Project whose funding needs are in the $200 – $2,000 range.
Exclusions: Grants are not made for political purposes or to retire indebtedness of an organization.
Eligibility: 501 (c) 3 status or Religious Organization
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation accepts grant applications by the last Friday of the month. The Grants Committees may interview applicants. The Grants Committees presents a recommendation on all completed applications to the Board of Directors monthly.
Grant Final Reports
As specified in the Grant Agreement, it is a condition of all Community Foundation grants that Final Reports are required within 30 days of completion of the project or program. If the applicant has previously received funding from this particular grant process, the Final Report for that project must have been completed/filed.
